
Anke's Bio
Anke is a recent graduate of the Communicative Disorders Assistant program at Durham College. She has 2 years of experience as a Communicative Disorders Assistant working with preschool and school-aged children with a variety of developmental and physical needs. Anke also aims to incorporate her love and knowledge of equine therapy, nature, animals, music and art to her practice. She strongly values trust and connection with her clientele, and embracing who you are!
Her formal education includes a B.Sc. in Neuroscience and Mental Health (Carleton University), a B.A. in Linguistics with a Concentration in Psycholinguistics and Communication Disorders (Carleton University), and a Graduate Certificate in Communicative Disorders Assistance (Durham College).
She has experience in using both low-tech and high-tech augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) support and strategies. She has additional training in Gestalt Language Processing, Trauma-Informed Care, Hanen Language strategies, and F-words training for child development. She is also bilingual in English and French.
