Cate's Bio

Cate is a recent graduate of the Communicative Disorders Assistant program at St. Lawrence College. She has 5 years of experience as a Resource Consultant and 10 years of experience as an Early Childhood Educator, working with children with a variety of developmental and physical needs.

 

She has delivered training workshops on topics such as inclusion, attachment, sensory needs, and language development to parents and childcare centres. She is also experienced in using both low-tech and high-tech augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies.

 

Her formal education includes a B.A. in History (University of Ottawa), an Early Childhood Education diploma (Algonquin College), and a graduate certificate in Communicative Disorders Assistance (St. Lawrence College).

 

She has additional training in Gestalt Language Processing, Level One Sign Language,

Collaborative Problem Solving, Trauma-Informed Care, and Hanen language development strategies.
