
Maxine's Bio
Max is a bilingual (English-French) Speech-Language Pathologist with a passion for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). She completed her Bachelor and Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology at Laurentian University. During her Master's Max was also a part of various interdisciplinary research teams focusing on AAC as well as accessibility of technology for aging and/or neurodiverse adults. Her experience in the field of research and within an AAC clinic has helped highlight the need to find creative solutions for supporting communication needs.
Max works clinically with neurodivergent children, youth & adults. In addition to AAC assessment & implementation, her areas of clinical practice include language development/parent training. Max strives to provide patient and family-centered services. She understands that clients, parents/caregivers and community are key partners in promoting skill development and helping clients to achieve their goals.
She is trained in Solution Focused Coaching for Caregivers, Hanen More Than Words, Hanen Learning Language and Loving It, and she is currently completing the Gestalt Language Processing training.
